“Dr. Abelowitz is an extremely knowledgeable and caring doctor. I have two year old twins, and thanks to Dr. Abelowitz, he diagnosed my son with mild Cerebral Palsy at 6 weeks old. This allowed us to do early intervention therapies and he is currently showing very little signs of CP. I am so grateful to him for knowing that something was not right;had we waited and not diagnosed it and not had therapies, my little man would not be where he is today. Dr. Abelowitz definitely cares and is a top notch doctor. We recently had our two year well checkup, and I was able to tell him that my son had been released from physical therapy and I could see he was genuinely happy and thankful for my son. Bottom line, he is an amazing doctor as well as the other doctors that work in the practice. I have never had an issue getting an appointment. Plus, they are open on the weekends! “Dr. Abelowitz has taken care of my 3 children since their birth. I can wholeheartedly attest to the fact that Dr. Abelowitz is the most ethical, experienced, intelligent, nurturing and gentle physician I have ever known. Without his expert diagnostic skills, my oldest daughter would have been paralyzed from the waist down or worse if he hadn’t diagnosed a rare mass on her spinal cord at 11 months old. Throughout the ordeal, Dr. Abelowitz patiently and clearly explained to us what was happening and what needed to be done to treat my daughter (surgery and 2 years of physical therapy). He was a constant source of support and optimism. Today, my daughter is a completely normal 6 year old because of Dr. Abelowitz. He is our angel. In my opinion, every doctor should strive to be as moral, trustworthy, educated, informed and compassionate as Dr. Abelowitz.”

When we moved back to CA 9 years ago and had our 2nd baby we were referred to Dr. Phillips by a good friend. We now have 3 kids and we still could not be happier with our experience with him and the rest of the staff. Never once have we been turned away for a same day sick appointment. Dr. Phillips is so warm, talkative and welcoming. My children feel safe and comfortable with him, which is so important. In addition, we’ve invited him to some of the kids events, assuming he’d most likely be too busy to attend…NOPE, he’s come and supported our kids outside of being their doctor. Dr. Phillips was my pediatrician all growing up, and it was so difficult to leave him that I practically never did! After receiving two negatives on tests for Mono during college (really?), I went to Dr. Phillips, at the end of my rope and legitimately concerned I had a more serious illness! I walked into his office and he just laughed – “Of course you have Mono!” He knew me, my history, and what I was generally like. Dr. Phillips can make you laugh no matter how miserable you feel. He makes you feel comfortable and has a knack for remembering what you like and are into. He is wonderful with children and is the kind of doctor that you’ll bring your infant to and never turn back. Then, when they’re 16, they’ll start feeling uncomfortable in the waiting room, wondering if they should move on…but desperately wanting not to!

My children have been treated by Dr. Phillips for almost 10 years. He is very thorough and takes the time on annual visits to go through their past notes to identify any subtle changes. When the children have been very sick, he’s called in the evening to follow up and ensure that the treatment is working as expected. In one specific case, I took my daughter to Dr. Phillips after the ER sent her away in the middle of the night saying there was nothing wrong. He took the time to check for all possibilities and identified a rare allergic reaction to an antibiotic and sent her to the hospital to confirm the diagnosis.

I met Dr. Phillips when my first son was born in January of 1998. We drive 20-30 minutes to get to him, but it is well worth it. Dr. Phillips is kind, light hearted and he genuinely cares. He is respectful and will remember details even if it’s been a year since you’ve seen him. Both of my boys love him and never want to see another doctor. He is a brilliant man and a wonderful doctor.

Steven Abelowitz was my pediatrician since I was born in 2001. I’m now 23, but I went to him for 21 years until I graduated college. He is the most caring, knowledgeable, patient and supportive doctor. He cares about each of his patients wellbeing in and out of his office. I’m lucky that I was his patient while it lasted. Thank God for Dr. Phillips and his love of being a pediatrician! I’m so grateful he was my pediatrician and is still in practice and now my kids’ pediatrician.
